Leslie Hatfield has a column reporting that the FDA has withheld from the American public since 2005 that Corn Syrup (you know the stuff they sweeten everything under the sun with) contains mercury. No telling how long it's been a problem, it could date all the way back to the 1970's when everybody switched over to the stuff from sugar. That it is a contamination problem in the processing plants and is 100% avoidable, but it would cost too much money to fix the problem.
Paula Crossfield has a companion article on the subject.
This is a problem that the deregulated, get in bed with big business, approach to governing is now not just costing the citizens of this country their jobs and homes, but their health and lives. Mercury is toxic in all its forms and there is no safe amount the human body can absorb. As the studies mentioned in these articles mention nearly half of all products containing High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS for short) test positive for mercury. Oh by the way, who is at greatest health risk: the unborn (most susceptible to toxins in the womb) and children who consume most of the soft drinks, so called "healthy" fruit drinks, pancake syrup, cup cakes, pies, around here it's sopapilla syrup their replacing honey with in restaurants, etc.
Going to the grocery store and buying food to eat is the equivalent of playing Russian roulette.
Just going into your pantry and refrigerator and looking on the labels will make just about anyone's blood turn cold.
Golly Gee could this be why so many people are coming down with dementia? Why children have learning disabilities? Unexplained or mysterious illnesses that baffle doctors?
Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy for those poor misunderstood Republicans now doesn't it!
